NULL pointer dereference in Qualcomm modem firmware allows remote attackers to interrupt cellular service through network traffic. During DSM item allocation, the closed-source modem component fails to handle an allocation failure before dereferencing the resulting pointer. No user interaction or privileges are required; exploitation causes only transient availability loss, not data access or code execution.
