CVE-2023-24832Network attack vector

Runtime crash via lazy DebugInfo access

Published May 18, 2023 · Updated Jan 21, 2025

NULL pointer dereference in Meta Hermes allows remote attackers to crash the runtime by submitting untrusted JavaScript. HermesInternal.getFunctionLocation accesses unavailable DebugInfo for an uncompiled lazy CodeBlock instead of checking that its bytecode provider is non-lazy. Exploitation requires EnableHermesInternal and lazy execution of attacker-controlled JavaScript; typical React Native applications lack this exposure.
