Key-material disclosure via compiler-elided buffer clearing
Published May 18, 2023 · Updated Jan 21, 2025
Information disclosure in Silicon Labs Gecko Platform 4.2.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to recover key material from RAM. In sli_se_opaque_import_key, compiler optimization removes the buffer-clearing operation, leaving a duplicate of imported key material resident in RAM. Exploitation requires authenticated network access and high-complexity conditions that expose the residual memory; integrity and availability are unaffected.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
