Script execution via unencoded query reflection
Published Mar 6, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Reflected XSS in SIGB PMB 7.4.6 allows remote attackers to execute script in a victim's browser through a crafted query parameter. The export_z3950_new.php endpoint reflects the query value into its response without adequate output encoding, and a payload ending in =or bypasses the documented filter. Exploitation requires a victim to visit the crafted URL, after which the script runs in the PMB origin and can read or alter browser-accessible data.
