Authenticated service lockup via unbounded external downloads
Published May 29, 2023 · Updated Jan 14, 2025
Uncontrolled resource consumption in OX App Suite backend 7.10.6-rev36 and 8.9 allows remote authenticated users to cause a temporary service lockup. The middleware HTTP client continues downloading attacker-controlled external resources after configured content-size limits are exceeded. A user account and a feature that fetches an attacker-controlled resource, such as an iCal feed, are required; the bounded result is a temporary processing lockup.
