Contact disclosure via incomplete move permission checks
Published May 29, 2023 · Updated Jan 14, 2025
Improper access control in Open-Xchange OX App Suite backend allows remote authenticated users to read restricted contacts. Folder ACL combinations granting read-own and delete-all rights permit a move into the user's address book without first checking read permission on the source object. Exploitation requires an authenticated account with that ACL combination and exposes contacts the account could not otherwise read.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
