Heap corruption via mismatched HTTP receive length
Published Nov 14, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Out-of-bounds write in Weston Embedded uC-HTTP 3.01.01 allows remote attackers to corrupt heap memory via a crafted HTTP request. HTTPsReq_MethodParse advances RxBufPtr past nonprinting method bytes but fails to reduce RxBufLenRem by the same amount, so form parsing later writes a null terminator beyond the receive buffer. The required gate is unauthenticated network access to an enabled HTTP server; Talos demonstrated a crash and identified possible control of a later heap allocation.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
