CVE-2023-24584Network attack vector

Memory corruption via diagnostic web upload

Published Jun 1, 2023 · Updated Jan 10, 2025

Buffer overflow in affected Gallagher Controller 6000 firmware allows remote attackers to corrupt memory through a diagnostic web upload. The upload feature copies attacker-controlled input beyond a fixed-size buffer, but Gallagher has not disclosed the responsible function or buffer. The optional interface must be enabled through DIP switch 1 or an override, user interaction is required, and Gallagher does not disclose whether corruption yields code execution, data access, or a crash.
