Unauthenticated code execution via nsrdump option
Published Feb 3, 2023 · Updated Mar 25, 2025
Code injection in NetWorker Virtual Edition allows remote attackers to execute code through unauthenticated nsrexecd RPC requests. The service accepts a remote request that invokes nsrdump with its -M option without enforcing NetWorker authentication. Dell has not disclosed the option's input-handling defect, and its current impact assessment limits the demonstrated consequence to reading data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
