Certificate replacement failure via RabbitMQ hostname mismatch
Published May 30, 2023 · Updated Jan 10, 2025
Certificate validation in Dell NetWorker 19.8.0.0, 19.7.1, and 19.7.0.3 and earlier lets remote authenticated users block CA certificate replacement. The RabbitMQ startup script improperly handles a certificate hostname mismatch and consequently fails to replace CA-signed certificates. Exploitation requires authenticated network access to the server and can leave the RabbitMQ endpoint using the certificate already installed.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=19.8.0.0, 19.7.0.3 and prior releases, 19.7.1
