Sensitive data disclosure via out-of-bounds STL read
Published Feb 14, 2023 · Updated Mar 20, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in Siemens Solid Edge SE2022 and SE2023 allows attackers to disclose sensitive data through a crafted STL file. The STL parser reads past the end of an allocated buffer while processing file-supplied data, exposing adjacent process memory. Exploitation requires a user to open an untrusted STL file, and the published impact is limited to disclosure of process-accessible data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
