Code execution via uninitialized PAR parser pointer
Published Feb 14, 2023 · Updated Mar 20, 2025
Uninitialized pointer access in Siemens Solid Edge allows attackers to execute code when a user opens a crafted PAR file. The PAR parser accesses an uninitialized pointer while processing attacker-controlled file contents, corrupting process memory. Exploitation requires local delivery of a malicious PAR file and user interaction to open it; successful code runs with the current process's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
