CVE-2023-24547Network attack vector

BGP credential disclosure via cleartext logging

Published Dec 5, 2023 · Updated May 28, 2025

Cleartext storage in affected Arista Networks MOS releases allows remote authenticated users to read configured BGP passwords. MOS writes a configured plaintext BGP neighbor password into local or remote logs and preserves it unmasked in the running configuration. Exposure requires a plaintext BGP password and access to logs or configuration; the disclosed credential enables unauthorized route announcements or traffic loss.
