CVE-2023-24510Network attack vector

DHCP relay restart via malformed packet

Published Jun 5, 2023 · Updated Jan 8, 2025

Improper exception handling in Arista EOS allows remote attackers to restart the DHCP relay agent via a malformed DHCP packet. Arista has not published the packet field or code path whose exceptional condition terminates the process. Exposure requires two ip helper-address entries on one interface in one of two documented source-interface or VRF combinations; the bounded consequence is a DHCP relay service restart.
