CVE-2023-24503Public exploit

Arbitrary firmware execution via unsigned HTTP update

Published Apr 17, 2023 · Updated Feb 6, 2025

Firmware update validation in Electra Air OSK201 allows physically proximate attackers to install arbitrary firmware over a malicious Wi-Fi network. The OTA handler accepts an MQTT update command, downloads firmware over HTTP, checks only its supplied MD5 value, and flashes it without signature verification. Exploitation requires an unprovisioned revision 007 or 008 controller to join an attacker-controlled access point, after which malicious code gains full device control.
