CVE-2023-24489Known exploitationPublic exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated code execution via unchecked upload path

Published Jul 10, 2023 · Updated Oct 21, 2025

Path traversal in Citrix ShareFile Storage Zones Controller before 5.11.24 allows remote attackers to execute code without authentication. The Documentum upload handler accepts a parentId ciphertext that only needs valid PKCS#7 padding, then ProcessRawPostedFile concatenates an unsanitized uploadId into a file path. The Documentum endpoint must be enabled; a crafted request can place an ASPX web shell under the IIS web root and run commands as the application account.
