Subscriber-level user metadata disclosure via unrestricted shortcode

Published Nov 22, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026

Information disclosure in DeluxeThemes UserPro 5.1.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read user metadata via the userpro shortcode. The shortcode accepts requested user-meta fields without restricting sensitive keys, exposing values such as the plaintext userpro_secret_key. Subscriber access is sufficient; the disclosed reset key supports takeover of a privileged account when combined with the plugin's insecure reset flow.
