File-existence disclosure via unrestricted validation paths
Published Jan 24, 2023 · Updated Apr 2, 2025
Path traversal in Jenkins PWauth Security Realm Plugin 0.4 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to test arbitrary file paths. Its form-validation methods accept unrestricted file names and use them as controller file-system paths, turning validation responses into a file-existence oracle. Overall/Read permission is required; exploitation reveals whether chosen controller paths exist but does not disclose file contents.
