Secret extraction or SSRF via unsafe XML parsing
Published Jan 24, 2023 · Updated Apr 2, 2025
XXE in Jenkins TestComplete support Plugin 2.8.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to extract controller secrets or trigger SSRF. LogNodeUtils.getRootDocumentNodeFromArchive creates a DocumentBuilderFactory and parses XML from the TestComplete Test ZIP without disabling external entities or external DTD loading. Exploitation requires control of that build step's ZIP input; the parser can read controller files or make server-side requests.
