Administrator access via retained pre-login session
Published Jan 24, 2023 · Updated Apr 2, 2025
Session fixation in Jenkins Bitbucket OAuth Plugin 0.12 and earlier allows remote attackers to gain administrator access through social engineering. BitbucketSecurityRealm.doFinishLogin accepts the OAuth callback and authenticates the user without invalidating the preexisting HTTP session. An attacker must first fixate a session and persuade an administrator to complete Bitbucket login in that session, after which the attacker can reuse it with the administrator's Jenkins privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
