Scan execution and result deletion via CSRF
Published Jul 11, 2023 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in WP Engine PHP Compatibility Checker 1.5.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to start or delete scans. The start_test and cleanup functions fail to validate a WordPress nonce before starting a compatibility scan or deleting stored scan results. Exploitation requires an administrator to submit a forged request, and the demonstrated impact is limited to scan execution and loss of scan results.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
