Stored XSS via unescaped shortcode attributes
Published Jan 31, 2024 · Updated Jun 17, 2025
Stored XSS in the userpro shortcode in DeluxeThemes UserPro 5.1.5 allows remote authenticated users to inject arbitrary web scripts. The shortcode accepts user-supplied attributes without sufficient input sanitization or output escaping, so crafted markup is stored in a page and emitted as executable script. Contributor-level access is required to place the payload, and the script runs whenever a visitor opens the injected page, exposing data or actions available in that visitor's browser session.
