Authenticated code execution via unbounded webpage copy
Published Feb 10, 2023 · Updated Mar 24, 2025
Stack overflow in D-Link DIR-605L firmware 2.13B01 BETA allows remote authenticated users to execute code via a crafted webpage value. The boa HTTP handler copies the unbounded webpage parameter from a POST to /goform/formWPS into last_url with strcpy, then passes it through sprintf onto stack memory. Access to the web interface is required; the published procedure uses the default login, and exploitation can execute code or crash the router.
