Code execution via crafted PDF stack overflow
Published Mar 23, 2023 · Updated Feb 25, 2025
Stack overflow in SoftMaker FlexiPDF 3.0.3.0 allows attackers to execute arbitrary code when a crafted PDF file is opened. Fraunhofer identifies the vulnerable locus only as FlexiPDF.exe; public records do not disclose the malformed PDF structure or the unchecked operation that overruns the stack. Exploitation requires a user to open an attacker-supplied PDF, after which code runs in the FlexiPDF process context.
