Authenticated command execution via PHP session inclusion
Published Mar 6, 2023 · Updated Mar 6, 2025
Local file inclusion in AgileBio Electronic Lab Notebook 4.234 allows remote authenticated users to execute operating-system commands. The ELN page handler accepts traversal in the page parameter and includes the authenticated user's PHP session file after profile data places PHP code in that session. A valid account and knowledge of the PHP session-storage path are required; successful exploitation runs commands with the web server's privileges.
