Authenticated code execution via controllable upload suffix
Published Apr 29, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in CRMEB 4.6.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute PHP code through the product-video uploader. The videoUpload method appends the client-controlled chunkNumber value to a filename beneath the public uploads directory without validating its extension, so a .php suffix creates an executable file. Background administrative access is required, and loading the uploaded file runs attacker-supplied PHP with the web server's privileges.
