Unauthenticated file disclosure via external XML entities
Published Feb 14, 2023 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
XXE in uReport 2.2.9 allows remote attackers to read server files through a crafted report sent to the saveReportFile endpoint. ReportParser.parse reads the submitted XML without disabling external entity resolution, causing a SYSTEM entity to expand from a server-side file. The endpoint has no access control; arbitrary file disclosure is demonstrated, while SSRF and denial of service are described but not demonstrated.
