Authenticated script execution via unescaped instance name
Published Apr 10, 2023 · Updated Feb 11, 2025
Reflected XSS in OpenWrt LuCI git-22.361.69894-438c598 allows remote authenticated users to execute script via a crafted OpenVPN instance URL. The pageswitch.htm template inserts the URL-derived self.instance value into an HTML heading without escaping it as page data. A logged-in LuCI user must follow the crafted URL, after which the script runs in the LuCI origin and can read or modify data available to that session.
