Unauthenticated memory corruption via initIpAddrInfo request
Published Jan 26, 2023 · Updated Mar 28, 2025
Buffer overflow in the Tenda AC18 web interface in firmware 15.03.05.19 allows remote attackers to corrupt memory via a crafted request. The /goform/initIpAddrInfo handler writes beyond a buffer when it processes untrusted HTTP input, but public records do not identify the parameter or unsafe copy operation. No authentication or user interaction is required, and published evidence does not distinguish a crash from code execution.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
