Remote command execution via unfiltered slaveIpList
Published Feb 3, 2023 · Updated Mar 26, 2025
Command injection in TOTOLINK T8 firmware 4.1.5cu allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands through a crafted upgrade request. The setUpgradeFW handler fails to filter the slaveIpList value before using it in a shell command, allowing shell metacharacters to append attacker-chosen commands. No privileges or user interaction are required, and successful exploitation grants command execution in the router firmware context.
