CVE-2023-24149Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Root access via hard-coded password

Published Feb 3, 2023 · Updated Mar 26, 2025

Use of hard-coded credentials in TOTOLINK CA300-PoE 6.2c.884 allows remote attackers to obtain root access with a fixed password. The firmware ships a reusable root password hash in /etc/shadow, and the published hash resolves to a fixed plaintext password shared by affected images. Network access to a service that accepts the root account is required; successful authentication grants full administrative control of the device.
