Remote command execution via diagnostic timeout injection
Published Feb 3, 2023 · Updated Mar 26, 2025
Command injection in TOTOLINK CA300-PoE 6.2c.884 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary OS commands via a crafted diagnostic request. The setNetworkDiag handler places the NetDiagPingTimeOut value into a shell command without neutralizing operators, as demonstrated by a 4||ls; payload. NVD assesses no privileges as required, although the published request includes a SESSION_ID cookie; execution inherits the CGI handler's privileges.
