Remote command execution via NetDiagHost shell metacharacters
Published Feb 3, 2023 · Updated Mar 26, 2025
Command injection in TOTOLINK CA300-PoE firmware 6.2c.884 allows remote attackers to execute OS commands through NetDiagHost. The setNetworkDiag handler accepts shell metacharacters in NetDiagHost, causing appended commands to execute during network diagnostics. The published proof of concept supplies a SESSION_ID cookie, although CISA records no privileges required; injected commands run with the management service's privileges.
