Authenticated router crash via oversized WEP key
Published Mar 1, 2023 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Stack overflow in Eagle 1200AC firmware 15.03.06.33_en allows remote authenticated users to crash the router via a crafted WEP key. The /goform/WifiBasicSet handler writes an oversized wepkey3_5g value beyond a stack buffer, although public records do not identify the responsible function. Access to the network management interface is required, and the documented consequence is loss of availability rather than data disclosure or modification.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
