Authenticated code execution via unbounded submit-url copy
Published Jan 23, 2023 · Updated Apr 2, 2025
Stack overflow in TRENDnet TEW-820AP 1.0R firmware 1.01.B01 allows remote authenticated users to execute code via submit-url. The boa web server passes an arbitrarily long submit-url value from /boafrm/formSysLog to sprintf in send_redirect_perm without a length bound. Access to the management interface and valid login credentials are required; successful exploitation can seize the device or crash it.
