Authenticated script execution via unfiltered image tags
Published Feb 21, 2023 · Updated Mar 14, 2025
Stored XSS in Redrock Software TutorTrac before 4.2.170210 allows remote authenticated users to run scripts in another user's browser. The visits listing page preserves crafted reason or location values, and its filtering fails to reject an image tag that carries executable script. Exploitation requires authenticated input and a user to view the stored listing; the script can read that viewer's session cookie or alter displayed content.
