Improper integrity validation in Diebold Nixdorf VSS before 3.3.0 SR10 allows physically proximate attackers to execute code. The Linux-based PBA reads attacker-controlled /etc/mtab data from an unencrypted partition without validating its integrity, allowing mount-path redirection. Exploitation requires opening the terminal, removing its hard drive, and modifying its contents; success bypasses disk encryption and grants control of the machine.
