Admin account takeover via unverified password change
Published Dec 4, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Improper authorization in Connectize AC21000 G6 firmware 641.139.1.1256 and earlier allows attackers to seize admin access via password changes. The admin panel accepts a new administrator password without requesting or verifying the current password. Reachability requires an existing admin-panel session, obtained through another flaw or a logged-in computer; changing the password locks out legitimate users and preserves control until a factory reset.
