Privilege escalation via weak DES credential hashing

Insufficiently protected credentials in Connectize AC21000 G6 Firmware 641.139.1.1256 let remote authenticated users recover root access via adjacent network. The router reuses the administrator password as the device root password and stores it, along with other credentials, as a rapidly crackable DES hash in /etc/passwd. Filesystem access is required to obtain the hash, after which password cracking can grant administrative and root control with confidentiality and integrity impact but no reported availability impact.
