CVE-2023-24022Network attack vector

Unauthenticated SSH access via hardcoded credentials

Published Jan 24, 2023 · Updated Apr 2, 2025

Hardcoded credentials in Baicells Nova 227, Nova 233, and Nova 243 firmware through 3.7.11.3 allow remote attackers to access SSH. The firmware stores a fixed credential encrypted with crypt, leaving the reusable secret discoverable rather than binding SSH access to a unique operator-set credential. Network reachability to SSH is the only stated gate; successful authentication grants the account's unspecified appliance privileges.
