Unauthenticated appliance access via brute-force protection bypass
Published Jan 30, 2023 · Updated Jan 16, 2025
Authentication-attempt limiting bypass in Snap One WattBox WB-300-IP-3 WB10.9a17 and earlier allows remote attackers to force a login. The public advisory does not disclose which login-handler condition lets repeated failures evade the firmware’s five-attempt lockout and timeout. Exploitation requires network access to the login interface and repeated password guesses; a successful guess grants authenticated control of the appliance.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
