Administrator-level stored XSS via unescaped button text
Published Jun 19, 2023 · Updated Dec 12, 2024
Stored XSS in QuData QuBot before 1.1.6 allows remote authenticated users with administrator access to execute scripts in visitors' browsers. The plugin stores the Text This value for a chatbot button without sanitizing it and renders the value without output escaping. Administrator privileges are required, and the flaw is reachable when unfiltered_html is disabled, including on multisite installations; viewing the saved button triggers the injected browser script.
