Browser script execution via unfiltered chat input
Published Jun 19, 2023 · Updated Dec 11, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in QuData QuBot before 1.1.6 allows remote attackers to execute scripts in a dashboard user's browser. The chat handler accepts event-handler markup without filtering, and the user dashboard renders the submitted chat content without safe output encoding. No account is required to submit the payload, but exploitation requires a dashboard user to view the affected chat content; execution remains within that user's browser context.
