CVE-2023-2398Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Administrator-session script execution via unescaped row parameter

Published Jun 12, 2023 · Updated Jan 3, 2025

Reflected XSS in Icegram Engage before 3.1.12 allows remote attackers to execute scripts in an administrator's browser via a crafted request. The get_message_action_row AJAX action places the POST row parameter into an HTML attribute without escaping, allowing attribute breakout and script-bearing markup. Exploitation requires an authenticated administrator to submit the attacker's request and interact with the injected page; successful code runs in that administrator's browser context.
