Authenticated hash disclosure via malformed console path
Published Sep 26, 2023 · Updated Sep 23, 2024
Information disclosure in Symantec Protection Engine before 9.1.0 allows remote authenticated users to obtain hashes through the legacy web console. The server accepts a web-console request whose path format is not properly validated, exposing sensitive hash data outside its intended authorization boundary. The legacy web console must be enabled and high-privilege access is required; the reported consequence is data disclosure without alteration or service interruption.
