CVE-2023-23957Network attack vector

Authenticated open redirect via next parameter

Published Sep 19, 2023 · Updated Sep 25, 2024

DOM-based open redirect in Symantec Identity Portal 14.4.x allows remote authenticated users to redirect other users to attacker-controlled sites. The client-side login flow accepts the user-modifiable next query parameter as a redirect destination without restricting it to trusted locations. Exploitation requires a valid account and another user to follow the crafted login link, which moves that user's browser away from the trusted portal.
