CVE-2023-23942

JavaScript injection via rich-text QML labels

Published Feb 6, 2023 · Updated Mar 10, 2025

Basic XSS in Nextcloud Desktop Client before 3.6.3 allows local users to inject JavaScript into its interface. QML Label and Text components automatically interpret untrusted label strings as rich text; the affected client passes those strings without forcing plain-text rendering. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access and user interaction, and the injected content executes within the desktop client's interface.
