Stored script execution via unencoded entry-type metadata
Published Mar 3, 2023 · Updated Feb 25, 2025
Stored XSS in Pixel & Tonic Craft CMS allows remote attackers to execute script in a control-panel user's browser via entry-type metadata. The Quick Post widget places stored entry-type label or instruction text into label HTML without neutralizing script-capable markup. Execution requires a control-panel user to load a dashboard containing the affected widget, and the script runs with that browser session's access.
