CVE-2023-23925Network attack vector

Service interruption via unbounded regular-expression matching

Published Feb 3, 2023 · Updated Mar 10, 2025

Regular-expression DoS in Switcher API Switcher Client JS before 3.1.4 allows remote attackers to interrupt service via strategy input. The processREGEX EXIST operation passes unsanitized strategy input to synchronous String.match calls against configured patterns without a time limit. A network-reachable consuming application must invoke the affected REGEX strategy; crafted input can monopolize its JavaScript execution thread.
