Browser script execution via unneutralized NTP input
Published Apr 28, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Cross-site scripting in NETGEAR SRX5308 firmware 4.3.5-3 allows remote authenticated users to execute script through ntp.server2. The scgi-bin/platform.cgi time-zone page places the ntp.server2 query value into generated HTML without neutralizing executable markup. Administrative access is required to submit the value, and another user's browser must render the affected page, enabling session-context actions or page-content modification.
